Its all by design; systematically delaying payment for rendered services is essentially denying care. Small practices can't afford to stay in business in this restrictive environment and that's another goal insurers have: consolidation and avoiding leakage outside their system. It's a big reason why I stopped practicing in 2018 and has only gotten worse. Instead of making joining networks more appealing and advantageous for clinicians, they're trying to force out of network clinicians to play their monopoly games. It's disgusting to watch how they continuously hurt both patients and clinicians while pretending they've done nothing wrong. It's operational narcissism. These people need to go to jail.

In 2023 the plan hired new VP’s for clinical review. These persons were tasked with coming up with a strategic plan to make the UR process profitable. And they did. They are squeezing the lemon as it was put to staff.

With these reports, what disturbs me most is that mainstream Media is not picking up these concerns and as a result our US Congress/Senate, Centers for Medicare Services are simply operating business as usual (hands off) and let these disgusting and deplorable profiteering corporates rip off patients and US taxpayers. It's all talk, talk and talk and NO GODDAMN ACTION!!! The fact that for mental healthcare services United Healthcare is doing its best to increase profits at the expense of the health of Seniors and others who have mental health issues. It's squeezing a dry towel at the expense of receive quality health care. If any of the market research firms who do conduct research on customer satisfaction and quality of health, I don't they are sending surveys to those who are finding out very quickly that the HealthCare in the United States is broken by these monopolistic HealthCare insurance companies. In any other Nation, what we Americans are experiencing would be considered a Human Rights Violation, and it is high time that we demand World Health Organization to address the fundamental flaws of price gouging in what is supposed to be a competitive privatized market. Most of us who have grown up from the 60's through today know very well that competition and treating Medicine as a commodity that can be exploited has failed miserably, and this needs to radical progressive change. The status quo is no longer viable when so many thousands of Americans are NOT receiving quality healthcare but are only experiencing higher and higher fees and expenses. It appears to me. that we Americans have become immune to others' suffering and if it is not his own problem, nothing needs to be done. We are a Nation of communities of various socio-economic groups. What ties us together is The Right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Where are we now?

Insurance companies are destroying the health care system. As a mental health provider with a private practice and a hospital outpatient position, I am seeing the squeeze on both ends. I am thinking of quitting and doing a cash only practice. Insurers are taking all of the money and none of the risks. This is the thanks mental health professionals got for working our butts off during the pandemic.
