Mr. Potter, I have followed your writings and appreciate your efforts.
However, capping out of pocket costs won't help if people can't get the necessary approvals/referrals for treatment. As you are well aware, insurance companies deny, deny, deny.
Mr Potter I am a DPC physician and follow your writing ,posts and have heard you speak at many conferences. What me and my colleagues do across the country is completely under recognized and under supported. If we gave all Americans the ability to have the funds to pay for primary care- and I mean real primary care not eight minute visits- wholesale medications, labs and imaging the deductible issue wouldn’t be as much of an issue. And the cost of premiums, especially in self funded plans, would also decrease or at least stabilize. Maybe we should keep things simple and “ensure” robust, affordable and accessible primary care/mental health for all and real insurance for all? We need a maven like yourself to show medical students and residents that primary care can be rewardable and most of all valued again
This is madness. Not only do we not have single payer for all but have millions going bankrupt WITH so-called insurance . We deserve better.
Good effort. Glad it's getting some response from both sides of the aisle in Congress.
