And locally the news is Steward Health , based out of Dallas, finally filed chapter 11. The largest physician led health care group in the country has piled up debt to the tune in 500 million. We have 3 of their hospitals in my county and locally our hospitals appear to be profitable but because vendors haven’t been paid by Steward, implants( total joints, spine, cardiac, etc) aren’t available because they in arrears. Meanwhile, the upper echelon is as usual, doing quite well. Very frustrating that we spend the amount we do nationally and still, our system is failing 100 million Americans.

"The reason the health care costs in the rest of the world are where they are is because the government has understood it’s a public good."

Enough said. We need to take the greed out of our healthcare system, and make it available to all Americans.

I wish the the cable news talking heads would do more reporting on the greed in healthcare. I know that their corporate bosses would probably not allow too much of this type of reporting because it does not bring in the big bucks to the stockholders of CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc.

It is time for everyone to get involved with trying to promote the common good with a universal healthcare program.

Medicare Part C aka disadvantage plans can only exist with corporate welfare paid to private for profit health insurance companies. Center for Medicare services hands over at least $12,000 annually of tax payer dollars to private for profit health insurance companies in the name of each & every individual that chooses part c. That is another way these companies profit and suck healthcare providers and communities of much needed dollars.
