In 2018, Congress passed the VA MISSION Act, which was celebrated as a pathway to expanding veterans' access to health care, theoretically giving them a choice to see private providers when the VA couldn’t meet their needs.
I see this as a huge disaster for the country and our Veterans. It is asinine to think that all Government services will do better under privatized ownership. Corporate correctional facilities have been a disaster in terms of management of prisoner's basic civil rights and lack of health care. And yet, we can expect more contracts going to these facilities who have done a lousy job with undocumented foreigners, particularly illegal migrants and those migrants who are seeking asylum due to political problems and safety problems in their home countries. The insular Ultra-Nationalism is turning to policies that are somewhat similar to Nazi Germany, and that is an intrinsic threat to our Nation's democratic values and the Rule of Law. It is bad enough that our Members of Congress still push privatizing the post office and health care when we citizens are finding that services promised become null and void as for-profit businesses want to pay exorbitant and obscene compensation to the top managerial class as they exploit their own staff and hourly workers. It is disgraceful and un-American!
So this corporation recently put out a message from leadership touting a retired Lieutenant General who was the first women to be named Surgeon General. It sad when someone who was inspired to greatness gets in bed with the devil and than backstabs the very people who should they swore to protect. This company sells snake oil. They market case management, transitional programs, health navigators etc. None of these programs are worth the money because it’s all telephonic and get no results. You cannot know a person by talking to them on a phone and then there are no resources attached to these programs just talk. This company only priority is to see how much money they can get before the earning call. They put in place strategic plans to increase profit and they don’t care who they affect . Get rid of 3 rd parties and focus all that money on services of excellence , stop the duplication of services , cut drug cost by doing what Mexico does .
Musk and Bezos want to cut the National Labor Relations Board so that they can further exploit hard working Americans, while they give themselves huge tax cuts. If you are serious about cutting costs -- the first thing to do is to cut the overhead of the management class that really do not add value to corporations. There are many areas in businesses that need improvements but we cannot go back to the past and place the burden on the backs of hard working union employees. The lies that are told to ordinary Americans in most of the Red States is disingenuous and unAmerican. Workers need representation because Management in this country rarely treats its workers as a strength to operating the business. Workers buy most of the products manufactured. and help to make the economy work. It is not the Corporate CEOs who strengthen the business since they are only concerned with short-term profits and not long-term growth. This is the basic competitive weakness in the United States today.
I live in SE Michigan where nearly 10,000 RNs have voted to join the Teamsters' Union. We need to see more of this. And I agree with everything you've said. Even Abe Lincoln pointed out that labor is superior to capital.
This double dipping is outrageous and must stop.
Double dipping on top of unbelievable amounts of taxpayer dollars given to private for profit health insurance companies.
These companies have infiltrated our state retirement systems too.
Corporate welfare on steroids

Mr. Musk wants to cut government expenses. He can start here, but he won't.
Thanks for reminding us that everything in this country will be monetized, health, safety, air and water.
