More than 300 community pharmacies closed in the last year alone. It has a lot to do with big health insurance companies and their drug businesses called pharmacy benefit managers.
Well I knew Joey Rettino was a whizkid behind the camera but it is clear he is also great in front of the camera. He brings a much-needed youthful energy, face and voice to the movement for healthcare reform. Keep 'em coming, Joey! BTW, my pharmacist at CVS confided to me recently that he used to own an independent pharmacy but was put out of business by health insurance companies and PBMs.

Thankfully, there is still a family pharmacy in my town. I ask everyone I know to give them their business.
Our last independent pharmacy closed Jan 2023 after 83 yrs. Walgreens bought out the prescriptions, but not the location.
