I have traditional Medicare and a supplement plan. I have never been denied care, but I have seen patients turned away because they have a Medicare Advantage plan.

This is just plain wrong, and that is why we need a universal healthcare plan for everyone !

I'm surprised he said the quiet part out loud. Isn't moving patients "to the bottom of the list" based on insurance carrier illegal? Maybe it varies by state, and I am not a lawyer, but I think it is illegal in NY. Or maybe it is just against the typical provisions in insurance contracts that we doctors sign. Either way, it is unethical. If a doc is in network, ability to get an appointment should be determined by the urgency of the needed service. Not by which card is in someone's wallet. Corporate greed has so destroyed medicine that people aren't even embarrassed to suggest they schedule based on reimbursement fee schedules of insurance companies!
