Doctors are leaving the insurance-based system in droves to start cash-pay practices. 300-400 physicians die by suicide every year as a result of working in this malignant system. This is unsustainable and getting worse. Thank you for the work you do!
This is the status quo and is only getting worse. Our primary care practice is now 30% self pay. We dropped both Anthem and United Healthcare entirely and only take those patients as cash pay (which, once patients realize how cheap it is, they are happy to do). People are going to eventually cut these insurers out entirely if they don't start covering a few things here and there.
