When are the private equity firms going to be held accountable? Excellent reporting. Now we need some excellent laws enacted shutting the door on these bastards.

I think we can all agree there are bad actors in the marketing side and hopefully they are getting those under control, but help me understand how tearing down MAPD plans is the answer here?

There is no one size fits all healthcare solution. MAPD plans serve a purpose just like Medigap plans serve a purpose. Implying that seniors are "lured" into a plan makes it seem like they are suckered into a bad plan. For many seniors an MAPD is the right answer. Education is vital with any purchase, including any other competing option to an MAPD. If a thorough education on all of their options is given to the client and they understand what they are purchasing and it is a good fit, why would you claim there are so many "drawbacks"?

Most T65 clients are coming from a group plan that is similar in nature to MAPD plans; networks, copays, prior auths etc. If all of their options are explained and the best fit, (whether that is due to budget or benefits or any other reason), is an MAPD, how is that a poor choice?

If somebody is dual eligible or can afford a Medigap plan, Medicare Advantage is a terrible choice. There are very few people explaining that to seniors.

Help me understand, if someone is dual eligible and they understand the DSNP plan and how it works, hos is it such a "terrible" choice?

Educating them and then allowing them the choice seems like the right answer.

What is it that you are saying advisors should be explaining that is so terrible? Networks and prior auths...these are simple cases of education and understanding. If the member understands the way the program works and wants the additional benefits most DSNPs offer, I am confused how it is a "terrible" option. Making the choice for your client seems less appropriate.

Here is another thing to investigate - they don’t tell you who is behind this ad seen on X: medicaremyway.com

Very colorful, they want you to help protect Medicare Advantage by writing to Congress.
