I believe what they should be calling this is racketeering. Patients have no choice with regard to specialty pharmaceuticals and are required to use one of these three. Make it illegal to coerce or require the use of a particular PBM.

0ften confusion by design in for-profit health insurance industry will allow a soft landing. they’ll have to decide if the perpetrator is WellCare value script (PDP) is operated by WellCare address Tampa FL. Then dive into express-scripts and the rest of the tangled cobwebs.

Please fight for the passage of The Medicare for ALL Acts.

“The stock was trading up more than 3 percent in the hours after the news.” This is the most telling thing you reported. Industries that are purely economic parasites will always outrun regulation. The corporate practice of medicine is already illegal in many states but if a law isn’t enforced is it really a law?

The corporate practice of medicine is enforced…to help big corporations run out the small fry independent practices! Medical boards like California use it to make money from independent practice physicians. Even though your business is legally filed with the state and it’s clear who owns it, you need to file a SEPARATE fictitious name permit with the medical board AND you can only do it by mail AND only one dude manages it and you never k ow if it’s been filed or not unless they cash your check. If they find out you don’t have one if a patient complains about you they file an accusation against you even if the accusation is false or unsupported by any evidence—then they make you pay thousands of dollars and put you on probation.

those “big corporations” controlling clinical decisions while pretending they don’t via MSO & “friendly” physician models- completely illegal in terms of the spirit & purpose of the laws banning the corporate practice of medicine.

Thank you for this reporting. I can fill all of my generic prescription drugs out-of-pocket at my local grocery store pharmacy for less than I was charged for the PBM-inflated copay for ONE generic drug at CVS.
