A link to my piece in The Nation – with some added context.
Among the things we learned from the pandemic: America's employer-based health care system is beyond repair.
I reached out to LA businessman and entrepreneur Joe Sanberg two years ago after reading an op-ed he wrote for The Nation about how a Medicare for All type of health care system would be good for American businesses. Since then Joe has become a supporter of the two nonprofit organizations I lead: Business Leaders for Health Care Transformation and the Center for Health and Democracy.
I’m happy to report that The Nation just published an op-ed Joe and I wrote together. We drive home the point that if we learned anything from the pandemic, it's that America’s employer-based model of health care has failed, and we call on President Biden to fulfil his health care reform campaign promises.
“The pandemic devastated this country–and proved that it’s past time to implement affordable, comprehensive care for everyone.”
